NAME
start-here - What this wiki is for and how it differs from the log.
SYNOPSIS
Also resolves as: index, about the wiki
DESCRIPTION
The entries are chronological. Dated entries, read newest first, meant to be finished. This is the other thing: short notes on one idea each, revised in place instead of republished, and connected to each other rather than ordered by date.
An entry earns its place if it’s something worth looking up twice.
The sections
The entries are the essays, weekly, due Friday. Projects are things with more than one step, kept as one page each with dated status changes. TIL is one thing learned, dated, short. Writeups are CTF solves, and unsolved attempts, once there are any. Unresolved is the ledger of arguments that broke and stayed broken, each with the thing that would settle it, and some with a date attached. The homepage is the log of all of it, in one dated stream, and the name of the site.
How it works
Entries link to each other with double brackets, and every link is reciprocal. See wiki-syntax for the mechanics. The bottom of each page lists what points at it, which is the part that pays off later. The connections show up without anyone maintaining an index.
Links to entries that don’t exist yet render greyed out rather than broken, and collect on the wiki index under Wanted. Writing down a name you haven’t defined yet is a feature. It’s how the next entry gets picked.
